The Lisbon Street Art and Graffiti Scene

Lisbon Street Art is quite broad in style, scale and technique. And also geographically- as it is quite spread around the town. That is why Alternative Lisbon created the Lisbon Street Art Walking Tour to show you Lisbon’s best Street Art and Graffiti. Alternative Lisbon Tours is ranked as one of Lisbon’s top tours on Airbnb, Tripadvisor and Get your Guide and run several off-the beaten track of Lisbon’s tours throughout the week. During the activities, we recommend you wear comfy shoes and carry a water bottle. Sunglasses are optional, but make sure to come with wide open eyes ready to spot the unexpected.

There is a long exchange between portuguese and brazilian cultures in the Lisbon Street Art. You will see artists like Utopia, born in São Paulo and established in Carcavelos, in different spots of the town painting with a very unique style of Street Art. And big names such as Kobra e Os Gêmeos bring their brazilianicity to the Lisbon Street Art. In the city centre there is a piece born from the collaboration between both countries: Mais Menos stenciled a fragment of a brazilian poem, written by Daniel Lima on a building’s facade.

A door to the world was opened by the famous portuguese Street artist Vhils in Lisbon, when he created the Underdogs Gallery. They curate the big walls supported by the Council and establish a bridge between the big public canvasses and international names of the Street Art such as Shepard Fairey, Cyrcle, Sainer, Pichiavo and Lister. Amongst who, great portuguese artists, like Add Fuel, Wasted Rita and Mais Menos showcase their talent making the Lisbon Street Art unique and remarkable.

To see all the big walls you will need to take public transport. But if you want to explore as much as possible in one area, check Calçada da Glória, which is the Lisbon Street Art open air museum, curated by Galeria de Arte Urbana. Another great spot is the Caracóis da Graça staircase curated by the Collective Yes You can Spray. There you will find Lisbon Graffiti Masterpieces as well as street art in a mish-mash of styles and nations. The trace of Anna Laurini together with Max Blax, side by side with the famous Utopia, followed by Oze Arv in collaboration with Tamara Alves followed by God-knows-who will be there when you go, because the Lisbon Street Art is a constant mutating process. So get yourself quickly here to check out these names before they go paint somewhere else in the world.

Have you ever considered about adding a little bit more than just your articles?
I mean, what you say is important and everything. Nevertheless think
of if you added some great graphics or video clips to give your posts more, “pop”!
Your content is excellent but with pics and video clips, this site could certainly be one
of the best in its niche. Very good blog!
